FAST 5'S UPDATE WEDNESDAY 27/11 - IT'S TOO HOT!!
27 Nov by David Thomas
Fast 5’s participants,
For the health and safety of all our participants, spectators and volunteers we operate under the Northern NSW Football Hot Weather Policy.
Under this policy, for the age groups scheduled to play this afternoon, at a temperature of 30 degrees or more we cancel or postpone events.
We do have a remote temperature gauge in the proximity of Novocastrian Park via which we can accurately monitor weather and environmental conditions.
As at 3:00pm this afternoon, the temperature is 32.7 degrees C.
The “feels like” temperature is 35.3 degrees C, with a humidity level of 49% and a UV index of 7.
As we set up fields from 4:00pm and need to give notice to everyone, we need to make a decision on this afternoon’s games now.
In line with the Hot Weather Policy, it has been deemed not safe for us to allow play to start today.
We understand this may cause inconvenience; we hope you understand that our primary concern is the health and safety of all involved.
