FAST 5'S UPDATE MONDAY 02/12 - IT'S TOO HOT AND GETTING HOTTER!!
2 Dec by David Thomas
Fast 5’s participants,
For the health and safety of all our participants, spectators and volunteers we operate under the Northern NSW Football Hot Weather Policy.
Under this policy, for the age groups scheduled to play this afternoon, at a temperature of 30 degrees or more we cancel or postpone events.
We do have a remote temperature gauge in the proximity of Novocastrian Park via which we can accurately monitor weather and environmental conditions.
As at 4:45pm this afternoon, the temperature is 30.7 degrees C.
The “feels like” temperature is 32.9 degrees C, with a humidity level of 54%.
We need to make a decision on the rest of this afternoon’s games now.
In line with the Hot Weather Policy, it has been deemed not safe for us to allow play to start today.
We already cancelled the 5:00pm games, and now all games this afternoon have now been cancelled.
We understand this may cause inconvenience; we hope you understand that our primary concern is the health and safety of all involved.
