With around 300mm rain experienced locally in the last 10 days and ongoing showers, it is unfortunately likely that washouts will occur across the upcoming weekend.

A reminder that all Game Day Wet Weather notifications will come via Squadi this year (the wet weather spreadsheet is now obsolete). Please do not rely on council websites, club Facebook pages or any other source of information. Squadi will be updated by 7.30am on the weekend (4.30pm on weekdays)

Newcastle Football have a policy that commenced in 2024 of only allowing postponements to occur on the day of the match. This is to allow an accurate assessment of the grounds at the time and for as many matches to be played as possible. The only exception to this is if the landowner of the field makes an earlier decision (as occurred with the City of Newcastle council last week). Whilst we appreciate that many families would like to know as early as possible if a washout is inevitable, the NLFC Committee is following the instruction of our governing body.

Monitoring of council decisions, changing conditions and field assessment is a time consuming task for our Committee around their work and family commitments. As always, we appreciate anyone who could assist with this (particularly weekday afternoons and early weekend mornings) to volunteer their time and expertise.
